Two women who were incarcerated at the same time as Piper Kerman, the author of "Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison," will talk about their experiences at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut. Beatrice Codianni and Carol Soto, who each inspired a character in Kerman's book, will discuss the health care they received during their time in prison.
Jaclyn Lubicello, who was jailed for three years in the state's only female correctional facility – and who gave birth while incarcerated – will join the discussion.
The discussion will take place on Quinnipiac's North Haven campus in MNH 101, the auditorium at the School of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
