Members of the Hamden and Quinnipiac community are participating in the third annual Run for Refugees Walk/Run in New Haven. The event raises money for the Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Service, which helped over 530 families resettle in Connecticut last year.
According to IRIS' website, the mission enables refugees and other displaced people establish new lives, regain hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities.
The newly approved scenic route in East Rock will end with a post-race party to kickoff Super Bowl festivities. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes or jerseys.
