The musical's protagonist Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant that he names “Audrey II." The catch is, the plant is foul-mouthed, sings R&B and is a carnivore. He promises fame and fortune to Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it blood.
Lauren Rosenay will play Audrey who is Seymour's love interest. Even though the show is sold out, she said students, faculty and Hamden residents should still try to see the show.
"I know the audience is going to love this show," Rosenay said. " I truly feel like this is a show for all ages, the music is SO catchy, there’s a huge puppet on stage, it’s filled with comedy, but I love how it also has so many touching and heartfelt moments as well. There’s something in this show for everyone."
