The Quinnipiac University School of Communications will be hosting a talk regarding sexual harassment and assault on Wednesday, April 18. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the faculty commons in the Center for Communications and Engineering.
The event comes at a time in which conversations about sexual harassment and sexual assault are growing. The Me Too movement has helped spark interest, as well as courage to participate, in these conversations.
“When we look at the discussions we’ve been having lately, not just on college campuses but in the media in general, this is an issue that has finally come to a head,” said Kearston Wesner, one of the professors hosting the event. “We have experiences now with the Me Too movement where people are sharing their stories.”
The event will touch upon the experiences of students and faculty.
“Those stories are also coming from professors and students on campus, so we need to have a more active conversation,” Wesner said.
Food and drinks will be provided to those who attend.
